Scott Warner says:

Looks like somebody went to Tattoo parlour for a ear piecing fell asleep in the chair & got way too many studs.Just on looks wouldn’t have them in my bag.

AZ Golfer says:

possibly the best looking irons I’ve seen.

Cameron Besaw says:

Rick, would you ever consider putting these clubs in your bag?

Ecclesiastes 3:18 says:

I’m OCD. I can’t imagine trying to concentrate on a shot while worrying over which of the 120+ screws might be loose somewhere in my bag. The driver alone has 16 screws surrounding the sole. I’ll stay with my MPs.

Talmadge Fisher says:

I think that pxg should of hired people from other places besides just ping. Maybe callaway and taylormade

elliot g says:

Titleist

Sean McGuinness says:

180 carry with a 7 iron?? what do you hit your 4 iron??? 3?? Rick you’re smashing the ball mate!!

over opinionated says:

PXG are the most Expensive club…surely that makes them the Best??

Anthony Guidice says:

I like Rick Shiels but detest these clubs – the look couldn’t be worse, topped only by the sickeningly offensive military nomenclature. (I’m waiting for the My Lai Massacre Driver.) More? The logo is amateurish; belongs on Wonder Woman’s makeup kit. Money doesn’t guarantee sophistication or taste.

over opinionated says:

its called ART
eye of the beholder

jo barbs says:

what going on whit the pxg 0311txf?do you can try ?

Tadhg O’Connor says:

Apex 99s can’t be beaten,

Doug Knisely says:

haters just can’t afford

benoit D'Haenens says:

In my opinion overpriced.

Guy Davey says:

How do they compare to other top end irons like Vega or the new Sterling clubs(not the same length ones!)???

john muddy says:

“That’s long for a 7 iron”. It’s not a 7 iron dumbass, it’s a strong 6 iron. A standard 6 iron has 32 degrees of loft.

Gary Seal says:

For the record, the models are pronounced “Oh-Three-Eleven”.  It’s a military MOS term that is Infantry in the Army.  No one calls this “Zero-Three-One-One”.

Craig Berry says:

thought u were hitting frozen ropes?

Andy M says:

Rather spend my money on Miura…. if I had that much to spend on a clubs!

gee gee k says:

I did a demo on the PXG’s pw,5, and 7 irons …I got to agree with Rick awesome clubs but very expensive ….I wound up with the new Mizuno Hot Metal JPX 900 irons and love them.

allo cromeau says:

31 and 32 degree 7 iron…..wow….now thats top end!!!!!!
pxg……….you dont get it at all……

Neil Fleming says:

Just a question, similar to the golf bidder challenge. If you had only 150 pounds what set of irons would you buy to play with for 1 year?

Steven Anderson says:

0311 – United States Marine Infantry

Founder is a former 0311 – Marine Infantry guy

Phil Shaffer says:

Rick – for us to understand how these are different, we need to know what your specs are on a standard 7 iron – your standard carry and distance, for example.

Adam Flynn says:

Ridiculously over priced quite ugly looking thickish top lines…strong lofts slightly low spin (thats just science its how they make the ball go further) and if the company owner wasnt a multi billionaire they would be bankrupt in 5 minutes.

Blake L says:

I think they’re EXTREMELY unattractive… but if they perform well, I don’t care.

Em Fo says:

I’d rather have a set of Mizuno’s. Even the JPX look better than these uggos.

LoaforDie says:

Love the satin finish!

Bob A Booey says:

Should have pulled out a competitor 7 iron and compared them.   I just got fitted for new clubs and brought my old irons and the balls I play with to get an honest comparison.  And no, I didn’t buy these things.

Chris Embardino says:

Great review… I really like the tech they’re using. It’s great to be able to keep the top line thin and have more technology into a blade style iron. The weights are great, and as a fitter, i like them because it allows me to fine tune not only the swingweight, but the CG position – which it doesnt’ look like a lot of guys do other than to fit. I wasn’t a fan of the look when they came out, but the more i look at them and the more i see them in person – i really really am starting to like them, even with all the exposed weights.

FitFast8 says:

Your draw/hooks are caused by your hands moving too far inside at the beginning of the takeaway. As Gary Player says you should FEEL like the hands move just inside straight back. You’re welcome.

KB CHEF says:

I think they look like someone made them in their garage. Ugly as hell.
Doesn’t matter about the price if you can’t hit them properly. Don’t waste your money.

Jonathan Moosey says:

Unapologetical loud, brash and bold, sounds like the Donald Trump of golf clubs.

tigerbalm says:

I bet Neo-nazi golfers today love the logo….

evaneezy says:

those drilled in rivets again lol..

man who plays golf says:

Really hope that PXG fail as a brand. If their are people stupid enough out there to purchase a set of irons for £2100 then all the other brands will just jump on the bandwagon. These are squarely aimed at idiots who have no idea how to play golf and take up a sport just so they can brag to their mates in the pub how much it cost. Those type of people who buy a pushbike for £12,000 in cash they haven’t told the revenue about and take it away in the back of the transit , or drive a Range Rooney Sports with ridiculous huge blinged wheels and headlights. Those clubs have performed no better than anything else out their and there’s only 1 reason you’d buy them.

William Pirtle says:

These clubs are for the rich and famous… Us average players can’t afford these and if we only play on weekends once or twice a month, why spend $5K. I wish they would send me a set to try and let me give feedback. I play a 6 handicap and would love to own a set.. Maybe Ryan Moore will send me his set when he replaces his for a new set… The average golfer is not going to pay $5K for any set, and if he married, it wont be for long…. LOL

Cheng Xiao says:

Why when i search honma this comes up

Doug Knisely says:

And does this guy not know who Bob Parsons is??

Adam Covington says:

If you’re curious, the founder of PXG is a former US Marine, and “0311” is the Military Occupational Specialty code for a Basic Marine Rifleman….

matty burrows says:

twice the price..do they make you play twice as good? no..there is the answer

Stephen Stuart says:

Hi Rick, I currently use Donnay slammers, play off +12 and have a average 7 iron distance of 400 yards. Do you think these will outperform my trusty Donnay slammers

Andrew Nelson says:

im glad you had a chance to review i never thought they would be long and lofted any weaker than 34 degrees but wow

Joshua Nelson says:

How long before those weights start flying off the head and hitting people in the eyeballs?

Kris Quaas says:

So when do we think that other companies are going to start making a similar type of forged iron that has a similar type of injection into it?

Trevor says:

NO No no noooooo… why? what’s the point, there is so much tech you can put into a club. These are hyped up nonsense and ugly looking “golf” clubs, imo. Stick with a true company like Mizuno or Ping. PXG is nothing but a fad

Chuck Pope says:

Thanks again for a well done video. I always believe it’s the Indian and not the arrow, but you have shown that a well made arrow is also important. As for the price, your right if you want to drive a Ferrari it’s gonna cost you, although a Chevy will get you to the same place eventually it’s all about the feel of the ride. Will I run out and buy a set, probably not, because if I want to hit the ball 10 yards further I’ll just get a bigger club out of my bag and save about $4k. Sooner or later they’ll be making some pretty good knockoffs for a lot less, or they will just bring the prices down to a reasonable range. Just like the Honma’s, they were also high dollar clubs that eventually went belly up because they priced themselves out of the market. You can buy a set of them for $100.00 now. So you don’t only need to make a good product you have to make it affordable or the masses won’t buy it no matter how good it is. Keep up the good work, I really enjoy your videos, top quality and it’s free.

Tadhg O’Connor says:

grub screw are a bit old style really for something that’s meant to represent the best engineering, surely it should be a tungsten insert with a specific shape, for instant what does the gap between the screws effect

jerry manning says:

$3-5k for a set. I’d be taking them into the bathroom and clubhouse with me. I wonder how easily they get nicked up – could you accidentally whack a few stones with them ?
