Michael Maloney says:

what shaft are you using in these? the stock xp95? what are your thoughts on how a kbs tour stiff + would knock the launch dwon sligtly

Gianmarco Balsamo says:

For a 28hp are u able to suggest M1 irons or (old) m2 tour? Thanx @rickshielsgolf

Rob Hannon says:

Lots of haters on here…Sad..I enjoy Rick’s reviews..evidently there are lots of bullshit high handicappers on here gloating their vast knowledge nothing. You may now all go to the range and hack your way into your 20 handicap…Rick you rule.

David Hall says:

They sound like a hybrid, not an iron. More TM dross.

don blem says:

These are dog-ugly! 5,200 avg spin with a “7” iron :-O
Terrible looks, terrible performance.

Adam says:

Guys I can’t afford these. But I would LOVe the extra distance with height. What is a reason I would want an iron more like AP2 than this? Give me a reason will help me feel better. Thanks

Phong Nguyen says:

I just got this M1 set. What I would say is that they are really forgiving. My miss are often a low cut and they still deliver some distance and a bit higher compared to my old sets. Tge loft does help with distance and so with the idea of the ability of hitting far with lower club does improve my confident playing irons from 220 yards out. The sound and feel is on the mid point of the spectrum between a forged and cast irons. Not as soft feeling or have a sweeter sound but also not as tingy and strong feel as other game improvement irons

Ryan Howes says:

Good looking

James Flynn says:

lol. my 4 iron is 24 degrees. not that I hit it as well. but that’s a crazy lofted 5 iron. I walked out of a fitting because he tried selling me on distance.

Evan Webber says:

Been watching your videos for a while now and wanted to pass along a few things. First, love what you’re doing. Keep at it. Having a chance to see a good players numbers live and real is a treat. Second, I realize you teach the game and probably don’t give a damn about comments regarding your swing but I have seen your miss enough times to chime in with my thoughts. Most glaring to me is the miss hard left which appears to stem from a reduction in your takeaway. You get very quick in transition and it leads to you being out of sync at the bottom. The first two iron swings with the 7 iron in this video are your best, in my opinion, out of the many that I have seen you take. Nice full backswing allowing you to be smooth thru the strike. Your reaction says it all…you weren’t trying to hit those two shots hard. Trust your full swing, it is a beauty.

Sixth Sense 60 says:

Another great vid..informative, not like the me&my vids..with sticks rubber bands..etc etc..such a turn off!! plus your channel covers all handicaps as opposed to theirs.keep them coming Shielsy!

Stephen Bartels says:

Hi Rick, love the vids! Quick question: when you tried the Epic Pro 7 iron you said the spin rate was too low for a pro iron (in the 5000’s and that you would need it around mid 6000’s to get sufficient spin. It seems the M1 has the same problem? Or is this rectified by the additional height (softer landing) that it seems to achieve? Thanks very much.

HKR Golf says:

What a shame they’ve not brought out a direct Psi forged replacement

Mark Cook says:

All shots toe down is it just the lie that is the issue or is there that much weight low in the toe that it’s pulling the club down?

Scott Martin says:

Hi Rick just bought a set of talyormade M1 irons I think they are awesome a bit of getting use to cause I had talyormade MB blades before them

SH7DOWS says:

I have bought every set of clubs that Taylormade released since the 2000’s, never missed an update. Every time I upgraded, it shaved my score by 2-3 shots. I was a single digit handicapper, but now I am shooting consistently in the low 50’s. So take it from me, if you want to improve your game, never miss an update! Good luck…

Charlie Valentine says:

I am pretty sure any good gymnast good do her beam routine on that top edge. maybe even her floor routine.

Justin Carner says:

What is a good looking cast iron that has nice shape to it? I.e. Not a massive sole, thinner topline, little offset and my biggest pet peeve, the face of the club being straight from the toe to heel. These don’t have that, they just have to make every iron look oversized. So gross. Ping i200 is the direction I’m thinking. Other options along these lines are PSI and Nike Vapor Fly Pro. If anyone can think of some other brands that offer this same profile, I’d like to look into them. Thanks.

Justin Carner says:

That would be a very nice looking club if Taylormade would finally start making their irons without the oversized face. I know some golfers know what I’m talking about. I like the face of the club to be a straight line from the toe all the way to the hosel. Ping is also bad for that in these in between player/GI irons, although the i200’s exceeded my expectations in the looks dept (love those.) IMO, with the oversized look of the face, its a complete deal breaker for even calling the iron anything other than a max game improvement iron. The M2 Tour is the same thing. Decent offset and look from address but not very pleasing to look at just chilling in your bag. Does this bother anyone else? Anyways, It’s important that they start getting this right, because it is a problem with folks who play these tweener irons. We want THAT look but also have some forgiveness with reasonable distance control (hotshots are so annoying.) The last iron with nice shape, clean lines and that are not forged, Taylormade has produced has to be the 2014 TP CB’s. Beautiful club. Anyways, I love all the reviews. Helpful advice for sure. Thanks!

Helena Vidal says:

Hi Rick – really like the reviews – when will you be reviewing the Srixon 765’s and 965’s? Clubs used by the best player on the planet at the moment Hideki Matsuyama.

JT2645 says:

What gaps between club lofts would you recommend throughout a set?

Brian Stratton says:

To me, Taylormade makes the ugliest Irons… Could be just me though….

Eric Jackson says:

I had high hopes for these. My one complaint with these irons and other Taylomade irons is the lack of gaping in the long irons. They jack up the loft of the short irons so people will buy them, because they hit there short irons so much further, but in turn the 5 and 4 iron go the same distance and you need more wedges below the jacked up pitching wedge to cover short distances.

MissyLaMotte says:

While I agree that both the M1s and the M2s look better than last years version, I still don’t really like them.

Mitch Y says:

can you do an M1 vs PSI Tour review?

IslandInfidel yaaa says:

clubs are way to “choonky” for rick roll…..

Eric James says:

What’s crazy to me is so many people hating on the thicker top line or larger face or stronger lofts/lower center of gravity, or chunkiness. These clubs have a purpose. There are other offerings out there if you want a smaller club head with less technology. My guess is most of you that think blades or smaller heads are more sexy and look better can’t hit them to save your life and should probably be in a game improvement/hybrid like these and just too egotistical to admit it. They aren’t as large and bulky as the M2 or other super game improvement irons. All other manufacturers are doing the same. Get on the train because this is the future of golf equipment. It’s proven through statistic backed science. When your buddies or competitors are hitting the ball straighter and longer and you are there praising the simplicity and sexiness of your blades you look like an idiot.

Joe Rogan says:

would you recommend the m1 or m2 for a beginner?

Paul Walker says:

Incredible consistency, nice soft landing. What’s not to like? Great review.

notformebeaky says:

I’d be very interested to see the comparison between launch monitor stats and ACTUAL British conditions. Really can’t see someone carrying a 7 iron 180+ consistently in normal UK conditions where humidity is high and temperature generally low.

Whats the difference Rick between your launch monitor and actual on course distances Rick?

Hassan hat says:

Rick how can you say m2 hits harder off the face than the m1 when your using different brand of balls each time? I’m sure that’s making a lot of difference!

Custom Clubs - Svenn Kellner says:

Big ugly heads, you have a bad taste Rick. P7XX is so much nicer.

Mark Ochinegro says:

TM had no other choice but to include the slot into the hosel of this club. The gaps between each club most be huge. I can’t imagine anyone buying these off the shelf without getting properly fitted.

Brian Stratton says:

Rick Shiels said that iron is a big booty ho!

kris porter says:

Rick I just subscribed cause I enjoy your reviews. I just would like to see more on the course testing! I truly feel it’s hard to compare product when hitting off turf. Anyone can hit off turf. I know you go to the range sometimes, but again that’s hard to judge accuracy. So if you have the time try playing a couple holes to really test accuracy and workability with new equipment! I think you would be in your own league compared to every other tester on YouTube. Thanks KP

Sean Glackin says:

I had heard rumours these were replacements for the psi what load of shite that was! I don’t think there’s a single figure golfer in the world would play with these mallets. Don’t know why there’s m1 and m2 both irons are aimed at the same standard of golfer

Chuck Bradley says:

Rick I have never seen you hit straighter iron shots. You may not like the fact that they are game improvement clubs but your shots with these are the best yet.

Tod Pharis says:

I was just fitted for the M1’s. They outperformed everything else. I am only an 8 hdcp but am hoping the entire M family will drop me to a 6. Love the look.

Jan Tunalv says:

Don’t you really think the top line on the M1 is too thick? I’ve hit both the M1 and the P770 (7-irons) and I found the P770 reasonably easy to hit and quite good height as well. But the M1 top line really
makes me think twice. So, I’m now really contemplating a combo set with 5-8 in M1 and 9-AW in P770 with the lofts adjusted on the P770 to match the M1.
Any thoughts on that?

Mike Cook says:

How do these compare to the Callaway CF16s??

ibass2 says:

‘They look “BadAss”

Sunny So says:

Better looking than the ugly AP and Ping G irons

Roger Lecloux says:

Rick have you ever made a comparaison between irons club with metalic shafts versus irons club with graphite shafts? Tks Roger Lecloux.

Brian Purcell says:

These look ugly imo. Still rocking the S55’s, unbelievable club.
